Its just out. It’s bound to be a treat for those hardcore gamers out there, who are ever craving for faster graphics and more processing power. Well, the HP Pavilion HDX Dragon is ready to take you on a thrill ride and storm the gaming market by force.
Featuring an astounding widescreen 20-inch display capable of resolutions upto 1680 x 1050. It uses the Intel ‘Santa Rosa’ platform (which is the evolution of the widely popular Centrino) based Core 2 Duo processors at 2.4 Ghz. But there are rumors that factory unlocked models powered by Core 2 Duo Extreme at 2.6 Ghz may be in the offering.
To complement all this, a high end ATIâ„¢ Mobility Radeonâ„¢ 256MB dedicated video card is included. Along with shared memory, the Total Graphics memory can be extended upto 2GB and 4GB of DDR2 RAM. Along with that, is 2 x 200GB (400GB) SATA Hard Drives.
There is no compromise on the media end either. A HD-DVD Drive with HDMI output and an adjustable webcam are part of the package. Another delight is a fully featured Windows Media Center remote that docks to the left of a full size keyboard complete with touch sensitive media keys at the top.
The HDX along with a monstrous size is weighs 12 pounds (5.3 kgs), which is very heavy. Its not just the weight, but with such a high end configuration it also ends up being quite heavy on your wallet. At $2999, the HDX is one of the costlier laptops out there, but that is no reason to stop you from experiencing its ultimate visual thrill, if you are among those who afford it.

Nice looking computer, I salivate when I see all that great stuff, then I remember, oh yeah, I have one already, it just doesn’t work. My fault, I fell for the bait, doesn’t get on the internet, just like the all in one they sell, only I was smart enough to buy that from a store that didn’t go out of business the day after I bought it, took it right back, hmm hp, nonstandard computer, won’t get on internet, cheap laptops will, wonder if there’s a correlation. Won’t run my external monitor correctly, cheap laptops will, hmm. I heard bad things about vista, but xp worked so well, couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Shoulda listened, at least if I was going to put money into anything other than a cheap non hp laptop. Hp’s really look nice, but now I’m 0 for 2 with em. Yeah the computer is personal again, you get to talk to the tech guys a lot about all the things your new computer won’t do, like install vista on new hard drives, before even taking it home with me, well maybe that’s why they went out of business, hmm. As soon as I can upgrade my wwan card to usb, trying that on that shiny new hdx, if it still won’t get on the internet, hp n i are gonna have a discussion or 2. Just thought you should know a little about that thing your puttin all them fancy pictures up on.
