When you delete a file from your Windows computer, it is first moved to the Recycle Bin, from where you can actually delete it later on, or restore it if you deleted it by mistake.
However, when you delete files from an external drive, like a USB thumbdrive, Windows does not move it to the recycle bin. Instead, the file is immediately purged.
Of course, while you can still recover the deleted files, the process to do so is far more painstaking than just restoring it from the Recycle Bin.
iBin is a Portable Recycle Bin
iBin is a small application that you just throw on to your pen drive (or any other removable storage) and run. Then, when you delete a file, you’ll be asked whether you want to move it to the iBin or not:

If you chose to move it to the iBin, the file(s) will be moved to an iBin folder, from where they can be recovered using the iBin interface:

iBin is very customisable – you can change it’s behaviour, assign hotkeys, and more from it’s Custom Options dialog, which you can open from the system tray.

Download
iBin is a free download from AutoHotKey’s First Toy Lab. You can read the documentation for iBin here, or head directly to the download page to try it out yourself.
Remember, you have to have the program constantly running if you want to be able to dump your files in the iBin!
