Then came Twitter and microblogging.
And then came bit.ly out from the darkness to become the most popular URL shortening service.
And then came Google’s URL shortener. And Facebook’s.
And then all the extensions and tools to shorten URLs with Goo.gl without a toolbar.
And then came Youtube’s URL shortener.
*Yawn*
Even more featureless and silly than Goo.gl or Fb.me, Youtu.be eliminates 11 characters and can shorten only Youtube URLs.
What does it shorten?
Use autoshare with Youtube, and all your video URLs are shortened and tweeted.
Instead of links that look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK64sTi4mKc, we now have links that look like http://www.youtu.be/mK64sTi4mKc.
