Don’t know if you’re being followed by a real person or by a spam-bot? Have too many followers and no time to manage them all? TrueTwit helps you differentiate between human followers and bot followers.

How it works

Once you create an account, TrueTwit will send all your followers a direct message. If they are also TruwTwit users, it validates them, and if they aren’t, they’re given a captcha to answer. If they successfully answer the captcha, then TrueTwit certifies them as human followers. If they don’t, they’re considered bots.

This services doesn’t actually go and block bots or anything, it just weeds them out for you.

Getting an account

Go to the TrueTwit site and fill up your details.

You will then be asked to acknowledge that TrueTwit will send your followers DMs on your behalf:

And also be asked to acknowledge that TrueTwit doesn’t block or stop anyone from following you:

Once you agree to that, you will be redirected to a Twitter page asking you to confirm if you want to allow TrueTwit to access your Twitter account. At this stage, you will have to provide your Twitter username and password.

Once you’re done with that, you’ll be redirected to a TrueTwit page telling you that a confirmation email has been sent to the address you provided.

Click the link in the mail, and your TrueTwit account is activated!

TrueTwit will recommend that you switch off email notifications about followers from Twitter, as TrueTwit takes care of that.

I’ve not yet validated any of my followers yet, have you?
