Earlier this year, there were rumours about a new Linux based internet tablet from Nokia. Yesterday, it was officially announced on the Nokia site.(See here, here, here and the official Nokia press release)
Nicknamed the “Rover” and dubbed a “Mobile Computer”, the N900 will boast a 3.5″ touch screen as well as a slide-out qwerty keyboard and tries to fill the gap between smartphones and netbooks.

This phone will have reasonable social-networking integration, with a contact list that integrates SMS, IM and email. It is slated to come with the application Mauku, that integrates with Twitter and Facebook.


The N900 will feature a full-featured browser from Mozilla, which supports flash and allows you to browse in fullscreen mode.
