There are quite a lot of times when we want to ‘Direct Message’ or DM a fellow tweep and realise in the process that since they aren’t following us, the tweet won’t go through. Here is a twitter hack with which this can be accomplished!
How to send a Direct Message to a non follower on Twitter?
To send a DM to a non-follower in Twitter, as Twilightfairy says, you have to “derive” their DM URL to create a DM message. Here’s the syntax
http://twitter.com/direct_messages/create/<twitter username>
Here, you have to replace the <twitter username> with the twitter id of the person to whom you wish to send the DM. For example, to send a DM to me, you would use the following link
http://twitter.com/direct_messages/create/narayananh
Happy Twittering
