Sony has confirmed its release of the successor of its Mega Selling PSP (PlayStation Portable) called PSP 3000 which will go on sale worldwide October 15 2008. It is reported that the PSP 3000 will cost €200 (or about USD294), while the current PSP will remain on sale. Also, in addition to boring old ‘Piano Black,’ the PSP 3000 can be had in two new colors, ‘Pearl White‘ and ‘Mystic Silver‘.

The new PSP 3000 has a built- in microphone which would make it easier for users to make free calls across the globe using the Skype network. Also, the new PSP would be capable of displaying more colors than its predecessors, which would make it suitable for outdoors. The device would come with a copy of Ratchet and Clank : Size Matters.
