Update: The Black Nokia NSeries N82 is out!
N81 and N82 are the 2 N-Series phones to be launched by Nokia in Q4 2007. The information below was obtained from Symbian-Guru, where Nokia has believed to have requested the images to be removed, thereby lending more reliability to rumors about these phones’ upcoming release.
Nokia N81
The upcoming N81 is an 8GB slider running on Symbian S60v3 FP1, following in the footsteps of the N91 8GB Music Edition. It is quad-band EDGE with 2100 HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), WiFi (b/g along with uPnP), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and a 3.5mm stereo audio output jack.

Though it cannot be identified in the photos, it is said to feature dedicated music and gaming keys (similar to those in N-Gage) and also a Navi Wheel.
Nokia N82
The N82 is quite different and with a candy bar form factory appears to be a successor to the extremely popular N73. While there is some similarity to the N81 in features such as Symbian S60v3 FP1, quad-band GSM and 2100 HSDPA, BT 2.0 (w/ A2DP), WiFi (b/g w/ uPnP); it takes the game to the next level with built-in GPS, TV-out, FM Radio, and a MicroSD slot.
The highlight is VGA, 30 fps video recording and a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and auto-focus, similar to the N95. However, the N82 packs goes one step above the N95 and includes a cool XENON flash for ultra-brightness.
Full Specifications:
- Dimensions: 112 x 50.2 x 17.3 mm
- Weight: 120 g [Target]

- Main Display: 2.4″QVGA 240×320, 16M colors
- 5MPix, Autofocus, up to 20 x digital zoom. Real Xenon flash. Integrated camera protection.
- Secondary camera: CIF
With a great combination of stylish design and amazing features, the N82 will offer great value for money.
By running both the N81 and N82 on S60v3 FP1, Nokia seems to have lengthened the life-span of the S60v3 FP1 platform. Regarding pricing, there appears to be no information yet. Both these new models are high end and sure to make a mark when they are out. But my vote goes to the N82. With features over and above N95 (which according to me, is the best phone till now), it is really something to look out for.
